2018 was a pretty great year for movies but 2019 looks like it will be even better! From Superhero movies to animated movies, fasten your seatbelts as we take a look at the 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2019!

10. Captain Marvel

Honourable mentions: Joker, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Alladin

Marvel's movies movies are almost always great. With Infinity War being the 4th highest grossing movie of all time, fans like myself are dying to know what comes next. Infinity War left us with so many questions and also the slightest tease of Captain Marvel's arrival. With Captain Marvel being the first female solo MCU movie, it definitely is something new for fans. Although the reactions to the trailers were mixed, Captain Marvel will probably pull in huge amounts of cash for Marvel.

9. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Not much is known about Quentin Tarantino's upcoming movie. The star studded cast alone intrigues me. Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and so many more amazing actors are featured in this movie. Quentin Tarantino has made some amazing movies in the past,  I'm hoping that this one can live up to them.

8. Frozen 2

With Frozen being the highest grossing animated film of all time, Frozen 2 will definitely make loads of money at the box office. Get ready for more music, cute one-liners, and obsessive fans when Frozen 2 hits theaters on November 22, 2019.

7. The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part

Everybody loved the Lego Movie and it's finally getting a sequel five years later. The original had some very loveable characters and a great story filled with humour. I hope that part 2 will be just as good.

6. Shazam

DC's latest release looks like it will be much more light hearted than it's previous films. Aquaman also did this and it proved to be successful, making over 900 million at the box office. But, given DC's track record, this movie could just be yet another disappointment. Let's keep our fingers crossed for this one.

5. Spider-Man: Far From Home

One of the main reason people believe that the deaths at the end of Infinity War weren't real  was because Spider-Man died and he already had a sequel planned. We still haven't got a trailer yet but with Spider-Man being one of the most popular superheroes around the globe and Spider-Man: Homecoming being loved by audiences, Far From Home is definately a must watch.

4. Star Wars Episode IX

Most years, a Star Wars movie would be at the top of this list, but not this time. Partially because there are so many other great movies this year but also because the Star Wars community is completely divided right now. With Star Wars fans heavily criticising The Last Jedi and then Solo bombing at the box office with less than 400 million dollars and getting average reviews, some fans might have given up on the franchise. Can Episode IX unite Star Wars fans again?

3. The Lion King

With the original Lion King still considered to be one of the best animated movies of all time, the live action (not exactly) remake is sure to bring in piles of cash. So far, the Disney live action remakes have been pretty good. The CGI in the trailers looks stunning and I can't wait to see the movie. I just hope that they change it a bit from the original but not too much.

2. Toy Story 4

I was as surprised as everyone was when Toy Story 4 was announced. It just seemed like an unnecessary cash grab. I thought the series was done and dusted. Toy Story 3 had an emotional yet satisfying conclusion. The teaser tried to bring back some nostalgia but it didn't really show us much. I am a huge Toy Story fan and I just hope that Pixar doesn't mess this one up.

1. Avengers: Endgame

Well, no surprises here. Even without much promotion, Avengers: Endgame is still my most anticipated movie of the year just because of the cliffhanger at the end of Infinity War.  This is possibly the most anticipated movie of all time because its the conclusion of 10 years of movies that everybody loved. Tears are probably going to be shed as we say goodbye to some of our favourite characters. But as they say when one door closes, another opens.
